Terms
of Use
The short version. Use the app for yourself, don't try to break it or resell it. Pro costs $24.99 a year or $4.99 a week, renews automatically until you cancel, and you cancel it in the App Store in two taps. Apple handles the money and the refunds. We make no promises about your battery's health, because nobody honestly can.

1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and ChargeTok ("we", "us") covering the ChargeTok iPhone app, this website, and everything we provide through them (the "Service"). By downloading or using ChargeTok, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information, and forms part of these terms.
2. What ChargeTok is — and isn't
ChargeTok plays an animation on your iPhone's screen while the phone charges, and shows you real charging information read from iOS.
To be clear about what it cannot do, because it is the most common misunderstanding in this category:
- ChargeTok does not replace your iPhone's built-in charging screen. iOS does not allow any app to do that. ChargeTok opens as a normal app, triggered by an Apple Shortcuts automation you create during setup.
- If your iPhone is locked when you plug in, the animation starts when you unlock it. That is a limitation of iOS, not a defect in the app.
- ChargeTok does not change how fast your phone charges, and it does not improve, repair, calibrate or protect your battery's long-term health. The statistics it shows are measurements, not medical or diagnostic advice about your device.
Automations depend on Apple's Shortcuts app and on iOS behaviour we do not control. Apple may change either at any time.
3. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use ChargeTok on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with the App Store Terms of Service.
You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute or lease the app; modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that restriction is prohibited by law; remove any copyright or proprietary notices; or use it to build a competing product.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to interfere with or overload our servers, to try to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, or to circumvent the Pro paywall or any security measure.
5. Videos you import
ChargeTok lets you turn your own videos into charge screens. You keep all rights in anything you import — we claim no ownership and no licence over it, and imported videos stay in the app's private storage on your device.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you import. Don't import content you don't have the rights to.
6. ChargeTok Pro: pricing, renewal and cancellation
ChargeTok is free to use. ChargeTok Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the full animation catalog, the fresh animations added each week, custom video import and full customization.
- Annual — $24.99 per year (about $0.48 a week).
- Weekly — $4.99 per week.
Prices are in US dollars. Prices in other regions are set by Apple's App Store pricing and may differ, and local taxes may apply. Current prices are always shown in the app before you buy.
How billing works
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it.
- Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- To cancel, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling later takes effect at the end of the following period.
How to cancel
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then ChargeTok, then Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. We cannot cancel a subscription for you — only Apple can.
Price changes
If we change the price, Apple will notify you and ask for your consent before the new price takes effect, in line with App Store rules. If you don't consent, the subscription will not renew at the new price.
7. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple, so Apple handles all refunds under the App Store Terms of Service. We cannot issue refunds directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds for partial subscription periods.
If something is broken, email us first — we would rather fix it.
8. Our intellectual property
The app, the ChargeTok name, the animations we produce, and the design, code and text of the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.
9. Changes to the app and to these terms
We may add, change or remove features, including individual animations, as the app develops. We may update these terms; if we make a material change we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where it matters, flag it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or every future version of iOS, or that a Shortcuts automation will always fire — that depends on Apple software we do not control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or device damage, arising out of your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for ChargeTok in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars ($25).
12. Termination
You can stop using ChargeTok at any time by deleting the app — remember to cancel your subscription separately in the App Store, since deleting the app does not cancel it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.
13. Apple-specific terms
These terms are between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. You also acknowledge:
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, and consumer protection claims.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and defending any third-party claim that the app infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, on your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of JURISDICTION — fill in before launch, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
15. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
